Closings, Delays & Outings
The Learning Academy’s calendar should be used as a guideline for holidays, vacations and school closings due to weather. As well as closings,we offer various outings throughout the year for families of our Learning Academy students. Dates are tentative and may change. The Early Preschool room is making marsh-mellow goop, using melted marsh-mellows, corn starch and blue food coloring. This activity promotes, following directions, measuring/math and early science. Meet Mrs.Tamika, she is the director here at the Learning Academy. Tamika is a graduate from Kaplan University and has been in the Early Childhood field for 22 years. She loves working with children and families, making sure we are providing the best care possible here at TLA.Tamika is very passionate about fostering to each child’s educational/developmental needs. Meet Ms. Bailey, She is our Early Preschool Teacher. She does a lot of fun and educational activities in her classroom. Ms. Bailey is working on obtaining her Child Development Associate and has been in the Early childhood field for over 8 years. She gives the children the opportunity to use their cognitive, sensory and problem solving skills everyday. Here at the Learning Academy we celebrate diversity in every way. We understand that no one child is alike, they come from different cultures, backgrounds and all learn in their own way. In observance of Black History Month we would like to celebrate Marian Wright Edelman. She is an African American activist for children’s rights. She has been an advocate for disadvantaged Americans for her entire professional life.
