In our Early Preschool room, Ms. Jenna offers variety of activities where the main purpose seems to be the enhancement of fine motor skills but there is so much more learning happening if you just look a little deeper. The students are learning how magnets work, how to build secure structures, to identify colors, to identify shapes, the names of objects and animals, how to be creative, and make connections about how shapes, colors, and materials all work together to make their ideas come to life! Ms. Jenna is a very caring, energetic, enthusiastic, and upbeat teacher. Her students really enjoy the activities that she creates for them. You can see the wheels turning in their heads! Ms. Lyric and the Pre-K class welcomed fall. Through her cultivation of various activities, Ms. Lyric supplied her students with several opportunities to indulge in all things fall while also ensuring that the students were working on their learning objectives. Those learning objective include exploring the visual arts, using writing tools, following directions, letter and letter sound identification, using their scientific inquiry skills to enhance their knowledge of characteristics of living things, their knowledge of objects, and their knowledge of the Earth’s environment. Ms. Lyric does a wonderful job of creating engaging activities, encouraging her class to try new things, enriching their skills as they learn and grow, and creating an exciting and effective learning environment in our Pre-K room. She has been an advocate for disadvantaged Americans for her entire professional life. She is founder and president Emerita of the Children’s Defense Fund. “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it” ~ Marian Wright Edelman Visit here to schedule a tour and find out more.
