May at The Learning Academy: Celebrations, Sunshine & So Much to Look Forward To!
May is here, and it’s bringing excitement, milestones, and a touch of summer sunshine to The Learning Academy! From Pre-K graduation to Picture Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the start of Water Days, this month is all about celebration, growth, and gearing up for summer fun.
Here’s everything you need to know to stay in the loop this May at TLA!
📌 Important Reminders for May
💳 Summer Camp Fees Posted May 1
Summer camp fees will be posted Wednesday, May 1 and deducted the following Monday, May 5. Please reach out with any questions!
🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5–9
Join us in celebrating the amazing educators who help our children learn and grow every day. A simple “thank you” or note of appreciation means the world!
☀️ Sunscreen Forms Available at the Front Desk
We’ll be spending more time outdoors! Please sign a sunscreen permission form if you’d like us to apply sunscreen during outside activities.
Closed May 26 for Memorial Day
TLA will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. We honor and remember all who have served.
🎉 What’s Happening in May
🎓 Pre-K Graduation – May 15 at 4:00 PM
It’s time to celebrate a huge milestone for our Pre-K students! Families are invited to join us for this proud and joyful event.
📸 Picture Day – May 16 at 9:00 AM
Don’t forget those smiles! Spring picture day is a great opportunity to capture your child’s growth this year.
💦 Water Days Are Coming!
We’ll be kicking off Water Days soon—dates will be announced shortly. Please remember to send a towel and a change of clothes with your child on those days.
🛌 Pajama Day – May 30
We’re closing out the month with a cozy favorite—PJ Day! Kids can come dressed in their favorite pajamas for a relaxed, fun-filled day at TLA.
🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5–9
We’re celebrating our incredible educators this month! Teacher Appreciation Week is the perfect opportunity to say “thank you” to the nurturing, dedicated staff who help our children grow every single day. A kind word, note, or small gesture means the world!

Summer is on the horizon, and we’re so excited for everything it brings—field days, special visitors, and plenty of outdoor learning. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on Water Day schedules, summer programming, and more ways your child will thrive at TLA this season.
